It began in 2009 after a three legged dog spotting
OUR STORY
Franny was at the park watching two pups happily chase a Frisbee when one made a quick turn and revealed something special—three legs! She looked over at the other pup, wondering if it was tri-pawed too… but nope, there was just one, really fast, three-legged dog.
At that moment, she realized she'd never seen more than one three-legged dog together in the same place. That simple observation sparked the idea for what would become the 3 Legged Dog Picnic.
Now, there are over 80 handicapable pups that come to celebrate at Little Marina Green in SF!

Loving a dog with different needs creates a unique and powerful bond. This event celebrates that shared journey. Three-legged and other specialty dogs may have stories shaped by injury, illness, or rescue—but they live with remarkable resilience and joy. Let’s celebrate them!
